ADVANTAGES OF PURE 100% NICKEL CABLES

Pure 100% Nickel wire with 50 micro-inch (1.27 micron) are used for manufacturing insulated wire with operating temperature up to 260ºC.

The operating temperature can be raised from 260°C to 1100ºC with increase in Nickel plating thickness from 2% to 27% by weight for demanding high temprature applications.

For crimped connection of high temperature rated cable,Pure 100% Nickel wire is preferred choice over the Silver Plated Copper wire due to the cost effectiveness.

Nickel Wire is used for high temperature operation which otherwise would tarnish Silver Plated Copper wire.

LIMITATION OF PURE 100% NICKEL CABLES

Soldering is difficult with Nickel Wire compare to Silver Plated Copper Wire and Tin Plated Copper Wire it requires an activated flux for soldering.

Nickel Wire will not be used where magnetic effect will be considered in insulated wire.

The conductivity of Nickel Wire is relatively low compare to silver plated copper wire thus it will offer slightly increase in resistance.
